writing to a public audience

Writing to a public audience changes my writing style completely. To avoid negative comments or feedback, I would try not to be offensive in m writing. I would usually write in a way that everyone would be able to understand me and I want to be clear on whatever point I am trying to make. Writing to a public makes me more aware what I am writing because I cannot write whatever I wanted to.
For example, I would have to take into consider other people and their different features like skin color and or with people with different beliefs like religion. I just cannot say horrible things about a certain race or religion because it is wrong.  I would want people of all different kinds to enjoy my writing. If I offend anyone it takes hundreds of people that could have been a fan of my work, but it would be ruined because of inconsiderate words that were written.
I would want to write so people can relate to me and know exactly what I am talking about. I would want people to want to read more and get engaged. So I would take my time and make sure that there are no grammatical errors because it is embarrassing when you write for a public audience and you spell something wrong. Also if there are no grammatical it flows better and would be easy to read. I make sure that I reread, revise, and edit multiple times.
If it had a specific audience I would have to pick an appropriate language. If I were targeting children I would not use long and complex words I would keep it short and simple. Also I would talk about things the kids actually know about not what a teenager or adult would.  For different ages I would use different diction so they could better understand me. Language is not the only thing that has to be taken into consideration when writing to a certain audience, because you have pay attention to things like tone and purpose. I cannot have a very strong tone if I am trying to target children because they probably would not be interested in it. For children I would need like a soft and fun voice so they would enjoy it. Also if you write something with no purpose no one would read it. When I type I want there to be a purpose so someone would get something out of my writing. I want my writing to mean something so I write differently for a public audience.
